Meet Cinder the Fire Dog

As more and more people get to know Mark, we would like to share some interesting personal stories with you from time-to-time.

One afternoon at Fleet Services, two ladies arrived with a tiny Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher that had a very serious eye injury. After I called animal services an officer came out. Knowing the urgency of the situation, I contacted my own veterinarian. He told me to bring the dog in, and that he would split the cost of surgery with me. Animal service transported her to the vet at my request.

The next day the vet performed the surgery and everything went great. Because I was affiliated with the fire department, everyone at the clinic decided to name her Cinder the Fire Dog. When I came to inquire about how she was doing, they told me that I was now Cinder’s owner.

My daughter fell in love with the dog right away and wanted to keep her for just one weekend, but of course, we decided to keep her permanently. Seven years have passed since we rescued Cinder, and she has been a great addition to our family. Despite her missing eye, Cinder is doing wonderfully and she can still see quite well. We love her so much and actually she kinda rescued us. She’s been a wonderful part of our lives and we love her very much. If you are interested in hearing more of these stories, plus understand Mark’s vision and priorities for Frisco, come join us at one of our meet and greets this week.
